Engraving centerlines, not double outlines

Engrave mode follows dark strokes as centerlines meant to be traversed once. Thick filled shapes traced as Laser create two edges instead of a single path down the middle.

Use high-contrast line art. After export, check junctions in your laser software before a physical job.
