JPG to SVG: choose what the file needs to preserve
JPEG stores an opaque picture and adds compression artifacts around edges. For a logo, ask for the original PNG if possible. A larger JPEG of the same blurry screenshot cannot restore missing lettering.
Photographs become flat-color artwork
Start with Photo or Poster for shading reduced to colored regions. Detail keeps more small regions and can create a large file. Reduce grain smooths small variations; inspect hair, eyes and thin lines before downloading. Subject cutout is available only when the editor shows an active service and your server-verified allowance or purchased credits remain.
Scanned text has a different goal
For dark lettering on uneven paper, use Text / Scan and automatic local threshold. Crop a text area first. Filled logos may become hollow under local thresholding; use Vinyl for those. SVG letters are outlined geometry, not OCR.
